Most 3PLs operate under a “cradle to grave” model. In freight terms, this means that one individual is responsible for every key factor throughout the lifecycle of a shipment. As we all know too well, there are a lot of moving parts for every shipment, big or small. We understand how important all of these intricacies are, and for that reason every one of our shipments receive the support they deserve from at least one member of our six job families.
The account management team is one family I hold very near and dear to my heart. So you know all about “The Account Manager Way” at FreightPros, thanks to Maya. But what are some traits of an awesome account manager, and how do we utilize our account managers to provide that quality freight experience?
Knowledgeable– We are all pros around here. I mean, come on, it’s in our name. Our account managers understand our customer’s business goals, priorities, and pain points. Greater understanding of what is needed for a successful account leads to fewer mistakes, and happier customers.
Strong Communicator– Building that one-on-one rapport becomes easy for a dedicated account manager because they are the “first responder” or “lifeline” in times of a freight/shipping crisis. Beyond the day-to-day communication, account managers write detailed shipping reports, and present you with the business metrics that are important to you.
Relationship Oriented– Relationships are where it’s at for account managers, and working to build these is how we get our thrills (as if the freight world is not exciting enough already HA!). Our AMs work not only to keep our customer’s happy, but also our customer’s customers happy. If they’re important to you, they’re important to us.
Results Driven– We can sit here all day and tell you how we are accomplishing the above, but a smart account manager will follow the quote my Dad has always said, “The proof is in the puddin’!” The account managers at FreightPros LOVE to show our work.
